With 40 Ethical Hackers based in Wales’ capital, and 20 more in London, PwC’s Ethical Hacking Team forms a core component of PwC’s world leading cyber security practices. Our Cardiff site hosts the hardware laboratory for our IoT and OT/IIoT projects and also our software team who build the innovative tooling needed for our red team projects. We help our clients to better understand the risk from their IT environments by simulating the actions of real-world threat actors. This can involve anything from hacking web applications to sneaking into offices to gain a foothold on an internal network! If this sounds like a career you’d be interested in come and talk to us at Bsides Cymru. Our ethical hacking graduates complete a funded MSc in Cyber Security and Technology at Cardiff University that recently won the Fintech Wales Best Academic Programme award. PwC are currently recruiting graduates for September 2023 both for our ethical hacking team and for a wide range of other technology roles such as data science, incident response, technology consulting and transformation, and software engineering.

Cyber Innnovation Hub - Hyb Arloesedd Seiber
The vision of the Cyber Innovation Hub is, “To transform Cardiff Capital Region into a leading UK cyber cluster by 2030”. The Hub will achieve this by creating a pipeline of new cyber products, high-growth businesses, and talent in the region. The Cyber Innovation Hub is being led by Cardiff University with a consortium of multiple private and public sector partners including Airbus, the Alacrity Foundation, CGI, Thales NDEC, Tramshed Tech, and the University of South Wales. The Hub is funded by Welsh Government and Cardiff Capital Region.
By 2030, Cyber Innovation Hub aims to deliver:
At least 25 new high-growth companies
A skills programme to train at least 1,500 cyber-skilled individuals
A unique selling point for the region will be the joining up of strategic plans and physical infrastructure around cyber-specific innovation, skills, incubation and product acceleration across industry and academia, which is not evident elsewhere in the UK. It is hoped that achieving a critical mass of activity with associated success in delivery will pull national and international investment into the region, with economic benefit to all partners, funders and the wider community.
